Hi! If I have specific questions about using My Designs not covered in the videos, where's the best place to do this? - Through Live chat/Email/DM or here?
Thanks!

Hello,
Over the past 2 weeks we've applied several large updates to MyDesigns improving the Content Management System front-end UI along with a variety of backend updates.
The major update I want to focus on in this post is Template Values:
Template Values are now enabled and you can start utilizing them by editing a template in a folder and adding values and/or active variables to any field of choice.
When you setup a template, add values to it, and are ready to save it - you'll see two new options:
Option 1 - Apply on newly uploaded designs only:
Option 1 will only apply the template values to any new designs uploaded to this folder, and will ignore any existing designs already uploaded to the folder.
Option 2 - Override all current designs data and apply on newly uploaded designs:
Option 2 will override any values on the existing designs in your folder and replace them with the values from the template, it will also apply these values to any newly uploaded designs.
This is quite useful for many reasons. You can create templates with the exact data structure you need and now add values to the template and then save these templates and apply them on any folder you like. Now, when uploading designs to a folder with a template that contains values, these new designs will automatically inherit the values from the template. It will save you a lot of time by reducing redundant tasks.
Example of a template with values utilizing active variables:
This can be taken a step further as soon as we allow users to save templates with all data slots, fields, and values to a public template marketplace in which you'll be able to share your templates with other MyDesigns users if you wish to do so.
I'll create a video covering this update in more detail soon and share it in the video training section.
Enjoy!

Curtis,
With the number of us using the site and adding designs is there a backup so that we don't lose them if there is a problem?
Also in the event, something would happen to you is there a plan in place to keep the site running?
I remember reading about one crypto where the person who started it passed away unexpectantly and he was the only one who knew the password which caused people to lose millions of dollars!
Thanks
Al

Would it be possible on MyDesigns or at the very least on MTA to allow us to decide on each design what color we want for the design or colors?

I searched for a video and couldn't find any. Why would we export a CSV?
Also if I export a spreadsheet do I have to download the designs for them in order to use the spreadsheet or will it tie into MyDesigns?

New Variable Updates for MyDesigns
You can now have multiple active (synced) variables in any field of choice. This is a major update so I created a video explaining how to use active variables.
Here's a few examples:
Example Description:
Camping and spending time in Nature is always in style! You've found the perfect stylish clothing for your next Camping trip. This product features: [MBA.Bullet #1] [MBA.Bullet #2] Looking for alternative styles? Click on our "[MBA.Brand]" Brand for more options!
Example Bullet #1:
[Keywords.Primary Keyword] camping clothing for Men, Women, and Teens.
Example Bullet #2:
Awesome Mountain, Nature, and Camping Gear for anyone that enjoys the great outdoors.
Example Brand:
Nature Camping Co
Example Primary & Secondary Keywords:
Primary Keyword: Camp More Worry Less
Secondary Keyword: Camping
The above scenarios with [ brackets ] are "active" / "synced" variables meaning they take the data from the field they're mapped to, and if the data in the mapped fields is changed at any point, it will automatically be updated where the variable is being called.
As you can see above in the Bullet #1 field, I can insert an Active Variable, and also insert Bullet #1 into any my Description field - and everything will be updated to use the variables - even mapping to other variables.
New:
We added a Variable Preview system (top right) of the Cloud page in which you can toggle on/off as needed. If you toggle it on - the variables in the [ brackets ] will show the text from the fields they're mapped to. Keep in mind that you can't edit data while "Variable Preview" is turned on.
If I turn preview on, here's an example of my Description:

This product features: Camp More Worry Less camping clothing for Men, Women, and Teens. Great Mountain, Nature, and Camping Gear for anyone that enjoys the great outdoors. If you export a spreadsheet from MyDesigns - it will export with the variables - not the [ brackets ]. We also apply this same structure to any integration such as Merch Titans Automation to ensure a seamless workflow / experience.
Watch our video training on Active Variables here.
Enjoy, and let us know if you have any questions.
